Julia D'Angelo

Catch folk/jazz singer-songwriter Julia D'Angelo and her band at The Painted Lady for a night of original songs and timeless covers!

Join us on September 26th at The Painted Lady for a live musical performance by Julia D'Angelo!

Julia D'Angelo is a Toronto artist weaving music, film, and dance into her creative projects. With an ear rooted heavily in jazz and folk legends from across the years, her musical work is a harmonious blend of past and present. Inspired by the lyrical depth and emotional grit of artists like Fiona Apple, Joni Mitchell, and Nina Simone, Julia's songs move between highly produced synth-pop and organic, live-off-the-floor arrangements, tied together through storytelling, unconventional rhythmic phrasing, and smoke-tinged vocals.

With a talented full band, she has performed sold-out shows across Toronto (The Rivoli, The Cameron House, The Supermarket, The Monarch Tavern & The Emmet Ray) and NYC (Mercury Lounge, Bowery Electric, Rubulad, Knitting Factory & more). Her last project, Collector, is a 7-track release that fuses acoustic roots with worldly textures and a blend of jazz and R&B rhythms.

This concert will feature Julia D'Angelo on vocals and guitar, Steve D'Angelo on lead guitar, Steve Lucas on bass, and Lorenzo Castelli on percussion and drums, performing a mix of original songs alongside covers of some of Julia's favourite and most influential artists.
